Original recipe

Ingredients

- 600g-800g baking potatoes

- 1 large egg

- 5 tbsp flour

- 0.5tsp pepper

- 2 tsp salt

Method

1. Grate potatoes finely

2. Squeeze out any excess liquid from grated potatoes

3. Add egg, salt, pepper

4. Mix well

5. Heat oil in frying pan

6. Dollop into frying pan

7. Flatten dollops into pancakes

8. Fry, turning once, until golden brown

Verdict

- Easy and delicious; this has become one of our staple meals

- Don't fry them too hot or too fast or they'll be raw in the middle
